Who Are We

The Regional Managed Assigned Counsel Office was created to collaborate with the District Courts of Wayne County in implementing the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission’s standards.  We are also honored to support the vast array of talented Michigan attorneys who serve the indigent defense population with their legal matters in the District Courts. Our staff is a “Justice League” who is committed to revolutionizing collaboration, service, and support for the indigent defense community in Wayne County’s District Courts.

Rachel L. McRipley

Director

Rachel L. McRipley began serving as the Director of the Regional Managed Assigned Counsel Office beginning January 1, 2025. She is an alumnus of the University of Michigan-Dearborn and received her JD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2012. After law school, she worked at the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for approximately 2 years. From 2014 to 2023, she was in private practice with a primary focus on criminal defense. She is the proud mother of two sons and 3 grandchildren. She loves being around her family and friends, going to concerts, and traveling.

Peter Granata

Peter Granata

Senior Attorney

Peter Granata is a Senior Attorney for the RMACO.  Peter is a graduate of Detroit Mercy Law School.  He graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Political Science.  Peter founded Granata Law, PLLC, where he worked as a solo practitioner from 2016 through 2021 focusing on products liability, admiralty and property law and defending misdemeanor clients in District Courts in Southeastern Michigan. Peter joined Lakeshore Legal Aid as Staff Attorney in 2022, recruiting pro bono attorneys and representing indigent defendants facing eviction in Detroit. Peter joined the City of Detroit in 2023 as Senior Assistant Corporation Counsel litigating blight, FOIA, no-fault and governmental immunity cases.

Alex Green

Alex Green IV

Senior Attorney

Alex Green IV is a Senior Attorney for the RMACO. Alex is a graduate of Detroit Mercy Law School and has a Master of Arts in Dispute Resolution (MADR) degree from Wayne State University. He graduated from Columbia University in the City of New York with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in English and Comparative Literature with a Concentration in Spanish Language and Literature. He founded Alex Green IV, PLLC where he worked as a solo practitioner focusing on civil matters, including but not limited to, ADR, landlord/tenant, probate, estates, and trusts, contract, administrative, real estate, municipal law while also handling some misdemeanor and low-level felony cases. Alex also works for his family real estate business based in the Detroit-Metro area. He enjoys reading, writing, trying new restaurants, watching television true-crime stories and trips up north in his spare time.

Danielle Robertson

Accountant

Danielle Robertson serves as the Accountant for the RMACO. Danielle has over 10 years experience in the Financial Industry, and has worked multiple positions within a local municipality.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and friends, curling up with a good book, or spending a relaxing weekend camping.

Marilyn J. Clay, System Manager at The Regional MAC Office

Marilyn J. Clay

Systems Manager

Marilyn J. Clay is a Systems Manager for the RMACO. Marilyn has a Master’s Degree in Leadership from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State University in Management Information Systems. Marilyn has previously worked with the 19th District Court, holding the positions of MIDC Coordinator and Court Collections Clerk. She is very active with her Church, enjoys spending time with family, exercising, walking and weight training.

Falisa Echols

Systems Manager

Falisa Echols is a Systems Manager for the RMACO. Falisa worked for 36 th District Court for over 35 years where she held positions in court administration, human resources, civil supervision and courtroom administration. Falisa has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice both from Siena Heights University. Falisa is also a Realtor for Real Estate One and has a passion for remodeling homes, traveling, exercising, family time and Sunday Dinners.

Ronda Rouse

Ronda Rouse

Systems Manager

Ronda Rouse is a Systems Manager for the RMACO.  She has 30+ years of experience supporting lawyers and executives in government, corporate and private sectors. She has a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University in Business Administration (Organization). She has one son and is active in her church where she is part of the Praise Team Ministry. She loves singing, music, movies and spending time with her family and friends.

Jennifer Russell

Office Assistant II

Jennifer Russell joined as an Office Assistant II in the Regional MAC Office in October of 2024. Jennifer obtained a Bachelor’s degree and teacher certification from Madonna University and has over 30 years of varied experience within the office environment. Jennifer enjoys both board and card games, music and singing, being actively involved at her church, spending time with those she cherishes, watching squirrels and birds, and lots of laughter.
